What We Treat

Cardiovascular disease takes many forms. So does our care.

No matter the issue, we offer the care most suited for your condition, from surgery to innovative, minimally invasive procedures. Grady delivers effective treatment that helps our patients return to their normal routines as quickly as possible. Each offers a unique advantage:

General & Preventive Heart Care

We are experts at providing the medical support that allows people who already have cardiovascular disease live their best, most active lives. We work with patients and their families to reduce the likelihood and progression of cardiovascular disease through tailored care plans and lifestyle adjustments. Learn more about general and preventative heart care.

Electrophysiology

Electrophysiology studies help to determine whether symptoms like chest pain, a fluttering in the chest, fainting, or dizziness are caused by a heart rhythm issue, and to pinpoint its cause. Learn more about our electrophysiology services.

Heart Failure Care

For most people, heart failure is a long-term condition that cannot be cured, only controlled. We help patients live their best, most active lives by recommending healthy lifestyle changes and medication. Sometimes, we implant devices to control heart rhythm, or perform heart surgery. Learn more about our heart failure program.

Interventional Cardiology

Interventional cardiologists use specialized catheter-based techniques to diagnose and treat coronary artery disease, vascular disease, structural cardiovascular disease, and congenital heart defects. The procedures minimize scarring, reduce pain, and speed recovery. Learn more about our interventional cardiology services.

Vascular Care

Vascular specialists treat many vascular and circulatory system problems involving blood vessels and the lymphatic system. Many vascular conditions can be treated with medication or lifestyle changes, but when surgery is required, we can provide state-of-the-art care. Learn more about our vascular care services.

Surgery

If other treatments have not worked or cannot be used, surgery may be needed to correct cardiovascular problems. Surgery is used to fix heart valves that do not work well, bypass serious blockages around the heart, and insert medical devices, such as pacemakers. Learn more about heart and vascular surgery.

Testing & Diagnostics

Because cardiovascular disease can take many forms, Grady uses the most advanced tests and diagnostic devices to pinpoint problems and determine the most effective course of treatment. Learn more about diagnostic testing.

Our Doctors

Every hospital treats patients. At Grady, we strive to treat them better, more efficiently, and effectively. Our mission to care for all who need us attracts heart specialists from across the nation. They are drawn here by the knowledge that we test the limits of medicine by innovating existing standards of care, researching cutting-edge drugs and therapies, and exploring novel treatments.

Our zeal for innovation has given Grady a national reputation for medical advancement in areas like cardiovascular disease, cancer, burn, stroke, diabetes, infectious diseases, women’s health, sickle cell, and other conditions cared for by specialists in our centers of excellence. Access to all of these accredited practices is available to every Grady patient, and our collegial environment means that specialists routinely help to care for their colleagues’ patients.

Though clinicians are drawn by Grady’s reputation, most are employed by the Emory and Morehouse schools of medicine, which staff our medical services. Grady is one of a handful of U.S. health systems whose patients are cared for by faculty members of two medical schools. This reinforces our commitment to ongoing innovation.
