Grady Diabetes Center medical staff provides patients with medical support they need — both for the disease and its complications. Our educators provide patients with training on how to inject themselves with insulin and how to use the glucose monitoring systems and insulin pumps that are available on the market. Grady’s Liver Clinic offers extensive counseling and education about hepatitis so patients understand their infections and their treatment options. Our liver assessments use a combination of imaging, other diagnostic tools, and lab testing to determine each patient’s condition and choose a course of treatment. Imaging sometimes includes Fibroscan®, also called transient elastography, a non-invasive way to measure liver stiffness.
The liver clinic offers antiviral medication for hepatitis C and assists with medication approvals and support during treatment. We also offer vaccinations for hepatitis A and B.
