Dr. Yuko Nakajima, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine and EMS physician who cares for patients at Grady and specializes in prehospital care, emergency response, and disaster medicine. Her work focuses on improving the care patients receive from the moment an emergency occurs through their arrival at the hospital.

Dr. Nakajima began her medical career as an anesthesiologist in Japan before completing her emergency medicine residency at Yale University and advanced fellowship training in EMS and Disaster Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. She is licensed to practice medicine in both the United States and Japan.

In addition to her work at Grady, Dr. Nakajima serves as a medical director for ambulance services in metro Atlanta and is President of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) Japan. She has provided medical care and humanitarian support in crisis settings around the world, bringing extensive experience in emergency and disaster response to the patients and communities she serves.
