Doctor's Bio
Dr. Pradnya Mhatre, MD, is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist and Director of Magnetic Resonance (MRI) at Grady. She specializes in abdominal imaging and MRI, using advanced imaging to help diagnose a wide range of conditions and guide patients’ treatment.
As Grady’s MRI Medical Director, Dr. Mhatre leads efforts to improve MRI quality and safety across the health system. She is committed to ensuring patients receive accurate, high-quality imaging in a safe and comfortable environment. Her work also includes improving prostate MRI and advancing imaging quality throughout Grady.
Dr. Mhatre earned her medical degree from the University of Bombay in India, completed her diagnostic radiology residency at Drexel University College of Medicine, and completed advanced fellowship training in thoracic and abdominal imaging at the University of Virginia.
In addition to her work at Grady, Dr. Mhatre is passionate about expanding access to safe, high-quality medical imaging in communities around the world. Her research and education focus on MRI safety, imaging quality, and reducing barriers to advanced diagnostic care.
