Melanie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Tar Heels!) with a BS in Biology. She developed her passion for healthcare during her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco and Mali, working in Maternal and Child Health and HIV/AIDS education, respectively. Melanie moved to Atlanta to pursue her graduate studies at Emory University. She completed her Master of Public Health at Emory in Global Health, where her research focused on complications of surgical hydrocele repair and Mass Drug Administration for the treatment of Lymphatic Filariasis. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys the outdoors, travel, games, movies, and spending time with her two boys, two dogs, two cats and a fish.
