Doctor's Bio
Dr. Margaret M. Ujazdowski, MD, is a neonatologist who specializes in caring for critically ill and premature newborns. She has particular expertise in neonatal kidney health and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), which allows physicians to use ultrasound at the bedside to quickly evaluate a baby’s condition and guide procedures.
Dr. Ujazdowski serves as Director of the Neonatal Point-of-Care Ultrasound Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. She helps expand the use of bedside ultrasound across neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and trains physicians to use it safely and effectively.
Her research focuses on acute kidney injury in newborns, long-term kidney health, and ways bedside ultrasound can improve diagnosis, procedures, and outcomes for critically ill babies.
In addition to caring for patients and conducting research, Dr. Ujazdowski helps train and mentor physicians in neonatal care and ultrasound.
