Doctor's Bio

Dr. John H. Lloyd, MD, is is boarded in both emergency and internal medicine. He is an alumnus of the Emory University School of Medicine in 1984 and completed his residency in internal medicine there. He has been director of the Medical Emergency Clinic of the Grady Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, has worked in private practice, and obtained his board certification in emergency medicine after return to Emory in the mid-90s.

Dr. Lloyd has experience as an emergency medicine physician in his hometown of St. Augustine, Florida, active practice in internal and concierge medicine, and has served the EMS community over the years as medical director of various agencies including Grady EMS, Rockdale EMS, Rural Metro EMS, East Point Fire, Hapeville Fire, Forrest Park Fire, and Amerimed. Additionally, he has entered his second decade as the Medical Director for Atlanta Technical College’s paramedic program. Dr. Lloyd has international emergency medicine experience, having worked in the Caribbean, Central Asia, and the Republic of Georgia.
