Doctor's Bio
Dr. Hernan R. Bello Velez, MD, is an abdominal radiologist who provides expert imaging interpretation to help diagnose and guide treatment for a wide range of abdominal conditions at Grady. His clinical interests include abdominal ultrasound, transplant imaging, and improving the quality and consistency of diagnostic imaging to support the best possible patient care.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Bello Velez serves as a medical advisor for Grady’s School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, where he helps educate and mentor the next generation of imaging professionals. He is also passionate about expanding access to diagnostic imaging and has led initiatives to bring ultrasound services to underserved communities in metro Atlanta and beyond.
Dr. Bello Velez is committed to advancing radiology through education, innovation, and community outreach, with a focus on ensuring every patient has access to high-quality, compassionate care.
