Doctor's Bio
Dr. Travis W. Blalock’s primary focus is Dermatological Surgery, including the treatment of skin cancers with a specialized surgical procedure called Mohs Micrographic Surgery. This procedure is used to treat multiple different skin cancers, including Basal Cell Carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, Merkel Cell Carcinoma, Sebaceous Carcinoma, and Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans, as well as many other types of skin cancer. Additionally, Dr. Blalock does surgery for other skin growths/lesions, skin reconstruction, and laser therapy of skin conditions.
Dr. Blalock is originally from Dallas, Georgia. He received his undergraduate degree from Emory College in Religion and received Emory University’s First Minor in Ethics. He graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga. Thereafter, he completed his internship in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He subsequently completed a residency in dermatology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA, where he also served as Chief Resident in his final year. Following training in Dermatology, Dr. Blalock completed a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California.
