Doctor's Bio
Dr. Ashima Lal is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Palliative Care & Hospice and completed her residency and fellowship at SUNY University at Buffalo, NY. She was happy to return home as an Atlanta Native and joined Grady in 2015. Her interests lie in caring for seriously ill patients in a resource-limited setting and as a clinician-educator, as she serves as the third-year medical student clerkship director.
In my short tenure, I have helped expand the inpatient and outpatient palliative care service at Grady. It is a privilege to work with our patient population. My interests as an educator lie primarily in promoting primary palliative care, basic skills that are required of all physicians and other health care professionals.
