Doctor's Bio
Dr. Dheepa R. Sekar, MD, is an internal medicine physician who provides primary care at Grady. She cares for adults with a wide range of health needs, with a particular interest in diabetes care, chronic disease management, and helping patients stay healthy between visits.
At Grady’s Primary Care Center, Dr. Sekar works to improve how patients receive ongoing care and support, especially those managing diabetes and other long-term health conditions. She also serves as a clinical leader in the Primary Care Center.
Dr. Sekar completed her internal medicine residency and chief residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center and went on to complete advanced training and a master’s degree in medical education at the University of Pittsburgh.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Sekar is dedicated to training future physicians. She teaches and supervises medical students and residents at Grady, with a focus on strengthening primary care and helping physicians provide thoughtful, patient-centered care.
