Dr. David W. Wright, MD

Chair of Emergency Medicine

Dr. David Wright is the Chair and Professor of emergency medicine, and Director of Emergency Neurosciences, at Emory University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Wright is actively involved in both the preclinical and clinical assessment of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and stroke. He was the Principal Investigator of the NIH funded multicenter Phase III clinical trial, ProTECT™ (Progesterone for TBI, experimental clinical treatment). He is the Principal Investigator of the Emory Hub for the Neurological Emergencies Treatment Trials Network and for the new SIREN network. He also is the Co-PI of the Emory hub for NIH funded NINDS StrokeNet network. He participates in numerous concussion research and technology development endeavors. He has served on multiple NINDS grant review panels over the past 15 years.
