Doctor's Bio
Dr. Ashish B. Patel, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in advanced radiation treatments for cancer. At Grady, he cares for patients with gynecologic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, head and neck, lung and other chest cancers, as well as sarcomas.
Dr. Patel has specialized expertise in brachytherapy, which delivers radiation directly to or near a tumor, and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), which precisely targets tumors with high doses of radiation while limiting exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. He works closely with each patient and their multidisciplinary cancer team to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his radiation oncology residency at the University of Maryland, where he served as Chief Resident. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Patel is committed to improving the quality and safety of radiation therapy and ensuring patients receive advanced, compassionate cancer care.
