Doctor's Bio
Dr. Andre R. Matthews, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and medical toxicologist who cares for patients at Grady with poisonings, medication overdoses, toxic exposures, and other medical emergencies. He brings specialized expertise to complex and time-sensitive cases, helping patients receive the right care when it matters most.
Dr. Matthews earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at Emory University. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in Medical Toxicology through Emory University, the Georgia Poison Center, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
In addition to caring for patients at Grady, Dr. Matthews is committed to advancing emergency medicine and medical toxicology through education and collaboration. He has been a faculty member at Emory University School of Medicine since 2008.
