Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Pioneering Care

The Grady Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery Center does procedures that that few others in Atlanta can do. Our surgeons are experts in jaw reconstruction and nerve damage repair, and we have the only team in Georgia that provides surgical treatment for obstructive sleep apnea.

Grady handles all types of oral surgery. Team members extract more than 6,000 wisdom and other teeth each year. They also do delicate procedures to reconstruct jaw and other bones damaged through trauma or by degenerative diseases.

Though they perform thousands of procedures each year, our surgeons specialize in meeting each patient’s unique needs. Our goal is to restore normal routines as quickly as possible.

Why Choose Us

Nobody in Atlanta offers better maxillofacial surgical care. Our unparalleled surgical experience is backed by the latest in surgical technology, including devices like an intraoperative navigation system that provides surgeons with 3-dimensional mapping of a patient’s anatomy, making surgery safer and more effective.

Grady is one of a handful of medical centers in the nation using technology called intraoperative CT or o-arm. It uses sophisticated software and a motion-sensing camera to help guide surgery or while the patient is asleep. The system provides surgeons with unprecedented visibility into incisions and procedures. Our oral/maxillofacial surgeons use special software in combination with its intraoperative CT scan systems and minimally invasive surgical technology to enhance surgical accuracy and improve patient safety.

The Grady Maxillofacial/Oral Surgery Center performs more than 200 operations a year, including hundreds of challenging and time-sensitive procedures to reconstruct jaw, nerve, and skull damage resulting from trauma, such as auto accidents and industrial mishaps. This unparalleled experience means that Grady has Atlanta’s most experienced maxillofacial surgeons.

And, when our Center for Advanced Surgical Services is completed in 2022, we will literally have the most advanced surgical space in the region.
