Doctor's Bio
I have a broad background in heart failure, with specific expertise in treating heart failure in the African American population. My research includes disparities in cardiovascular disease outcomes, particularly outcomes in heart failure. I have been the principal investigator and co-investigator on several NIH, CDC, and industry-funded studies. Also, I have served as a grant peer reviewer and on the research oversight committee of the American Heart Association. I maintain a busy clinical cardiology practice and chair the Program Evaluation Committee of our cardiovascular fellowship program. I have collaborated with other researchers and produced several peer-reviewed publications from multiple projects.
