Doctor's Bio
Dr. Lauren Orenstein, MD, is a dermatologist at Grady who specializes in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a chronic skin condition that can cause painful lumps, abscesses, and scarring. She provides both medical and surgical treatment for HS and works closely with patients to develop personalized care plans that help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
Dr. Orenstein earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed her dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as Chief Resident and received additional training in healthcare leadership and quality improvement.
In addition to caring for patients at Grady, Dr. Orenstein conducts research focused on improving care for people living with hidradenitis suppurativa. Her work explores pain management, treatment decisions, communication between patients and providers, and barriers that can affect access to effective HS care.
