Doctor's Bio
Dr. Saima Muzahir, MD, is a board-certified nuclear medicine physician who specializes in advanced imaging and targeted treatments for cancer. At Grady, she uses nuclear medicine and molecular imaging to help diagnose and guide treatment for conditions including thyroid cancer, prostate cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors.
Dr. Muzahir has specialized expertise in theranostics, an approach that uses targeted radioactive medicines to both identify and treat certain cancers. She works closely with multidisciplinary care teams to help patients receive personalized treatment based on their specific disease.
Dr. Muzahir earned her medical degree from Nishtar Medical College in Pakistan and completed advanced training in nuclear medicine in Pakistan and at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. She also completed specialized training in PET-CT imaging at the University of Wisconsin.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Muzahir is an Associate Professor and leads theranostics efforts across the health system, helping expand access to innovative approaches to cancer diagnosis and treatment.
