Doctor's Bio
I am a proud Atlanta native who began my medical journey at the Medical College of Georgia. After completing a combined Pediatric and Internal Medicine residency in Cincinnati, OH, I discovered a profound interest in the lifespan care of individuals with sickle cell disease. This passion led me to pursue a dual pediatric and adult hematology fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center.
My clinical and research focus centers on transitional care, ensuring patients with sickle cell disease experience seamless, comprehensive support as they move from pediatric to adult care. Additionally, I am deeply committed to advancing global sickle cell care, which has taken me to Brazil, Uganda, and Ghana to conduct research and collaborate on improving outcomes for individuals with this condition worldwide.
Teaching is another cornerstone of my career. I find great fulfillment in mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, sharing my knowledge of sickle cell disease, its multifaceted challenges, and the evolving landscape of its care.
Outside of work, I am inspired by opportunities to bridge gaps in healthcare and empower the next generation of clinicians to make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives. I am honored to be a part of Georgia’s most comprehensive and well-established Sickle Cell Clinic at Grady.
