Doctor's Bio

Dr. David Berkowitz, MD, is an interventional pulmonologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex lung and airway conditions. At Grady, he cares for patients with lung cancer, airway disorders, and other advanced pulmonary diseases, using minimally invasive procedures to diagnose disease, relieve symptoms, and improve quality of life.

His expertise includes advanced bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), navigational bronchoscopy, airway stenting, laser-assisted bronchoscopy, and other innovative procedures that help patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatment with less invasive approaches whenever possible.

Dr. Berkowitz completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School, followed by residency training at Harvard Medical School and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Emory University. He also completed advanced fellowship training in Interventional Pulmonology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

In addition to caring for patients at Grady, Dr. Berkowitz is committed to advancing the field of interventional pulmonology through research, education, and innovation. His work focuses on improving the diagnosis and treatment of lung disease, enhancing the safety of advanced pulmonary procedures, and training the next generation of interventional pulmonologists.
