About Grady EMS

Grady EMS, the hospital-based emergency care component of Grady Health System, has been providing advanced life support and emergency ambulance services to citizens or visitors transported within the areas we serve, regardless of social, political or economic status, for 125 years.

What We Offer

The Field Operations division includes all field staff deployed on the ALS 911 emergency ambulances. The ambulances are deployed using peak-load staffing and system status until deployment. At peak times in Atlanta, Grady deploys 35 ALS ambulances, one ALS Special Operations unit, three Quick Response Vehicles (QRV) ALS units, and two ALS Field Managers.

Grady EMS, through its non-emergency division, provides all discharge and inter-facility transportation planning for the hospital. SCT transport options include ambulatory vans, wheelchair vans and BLS units for stretcher patients.

Grady EMS E-911 Communications Center is a secondary public service answering point (PSAP), receiving all emergency calls through the city of Atlanta, College Park, and East Point. Once received, our EMD-trained dispatchers use the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch protocol system to evaluate the patient’s condition and assist in appropriately allocating resources.

The Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program focuses on coordinating and facilitation efficient, targeted management of outpatient problems that would otherwise burden the ED, decreasing hospital admissions and improving quality of care.

Grady EMS is able to leverage expertise in the field of pre-hospital emergency care to bring enhanced services, more efficient management, and cost efficiencies to the emergency services of our partners’ patient base. Partnerships, such as those developed between Grady and RightSite Health, include providing resources to patients experiencing low-acuity concerns, using Rightsite’s team of physicians and navigators to help patients get the care they need.

Grady EMS is able to ensure the reliability of our fleet by operating a Fleet Services and Production Facility. Taking care of our own vehicles provides cost savings that we pass on to you. Reliant Emergency Specialties Service provides collision repair, parts replacement, and complete remounting services.

EMS for Events

Grady Event EMS provides coverage for small events up to events in excess of 200,000 people in and around Atlanta, GA. We have the resources necessary and the experience needed to meet and exceed all requirements and expectations of the customer, along with meeting all city, county, and state requirements.
