PGY-2 INTERNAL MEDICINE PHARMACY RESIDENCY
The Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency offers diverse opportunities for the resident to concentrate on broadening their clinical skills and knowledge base in the area of internal medicine. Residents participate in a 24-hour, in-house, on-call program unique to only a few programs nationally.

Prerequisites
- 1. Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
- 2. Successful completion of an ASHP accredited or candidate status PGY-1 Pharmacy residency
- 3. Eligibility for licensure in the state of Georgia
- 4. Personal and leadership qualifications for successful completion of a PGY-2 residency
- 5. Letter of Intent

Submit four (4) references that will utilize the Standardized Reference form provided in PhORCAS. Three (3) references should be provided by residency preceptors and one (1) from the residency program director.

Applicants invited for an on-site interview during January or February will be required to present a professional presentation on a topic related to clinical pharmacy practice (may present a residency research project if some data collection and analysis has been completed).

- Increase experience through a unique 24-hour, in-house, on-call program that strengthens problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Optimize patient care through teamwork activities with physicians from Emory and Morehouse Schools of Medicine

- Internal Medicine: Hospitalist Service
- Internal Medicine: Unit Based
- Medical ICU (1)
- Infectious Diseases (1 – ID Consults or Inpatient HIV Service)
- Longitudinal Clinic (1 – 2 times a month, half day, 9 months)
- Residency Project 1 & 2 (12 months, Flipped Research Project (Present at Vizient and SERC)
- On-Call/Staffing
- 24-hour in-house Clinical On-Call Program (25 – 30 shifts, 12 months)
- 4-hour Staffing shift (15 – 20 shifts, 12 months)
- Administration, Journal Club, and Medication Use (12 months)
- MUE, protocol/policy development, journal peer review, committee involvement
- Professional Development Seminars, Residency Research Advisory Committee Seminars, and Capstone at Emory School of Medicine
- Pharmacokinetics coverage
- Internal Medicine Journal Club
- Clinical Seminar (Grand Rounds) and Clinical Case (12 months)o 2 ACPE-accredited presentations
