The Grady Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center Electrodiagnostic Laboratory has received Laboratory Accreditation with Exemplary status from the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).
“Accreditation with Exemplary status puts Grady among the nation’s top electrodiagnostic laboratories. This is an important accomplishment for the Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center and the patients we serve,” said laboratory medical director Dr. Taylor Harrison.
“Achieving this high standing is a testament to the expertise and dedication of the neuroscience team and another important step in our quest to provide the highest level of care possible,” said Dr. Michael Frankel, Grady’s Chief of Neurology, Director of the Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center, and Professor and Director of Vascular Neurology at the Emory University School of Medicine.
The AANEM established laboratory accreditation criteria for electrodiagnostic (EDX) laboratories to ensure patients receive quality medical care in a safe environment. Laboratory accreditation provides patients, referral sources, and payers with a credible measure to differentiate the laboratory’s quality of care.
