Doctor's Bio
Rashida Allen Avery, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician with Grady’s Asa Yancey Health Center.
Although born in New York, Dr. Avery grew up in Georgia, where she spent the majority of her formative years. Dr. Avery graduated with honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Psychology while on the pre-med track. She received her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in 2013 with honors as a cum lade graduate and continued there to complete her residency in pediatrics. After residency, she went on to work in the Grady Health System, upholding Morehouse School of Medicine’s mission of serving the underserved. She holds professional memberships in the American Academy of Pediatrics, both national and local chapters.
Dr. Avery lives in Atlanta with her husband, Jordache Avery, an Atlanta architect. Together, they have three beautiful children: sons Jaiden and Jace and daughter Jordyn. They enjoy family movie nights, traveling, sports, and the foodie adventures that come with living in town.
