Doctor's Bio
After graduating as Valedictorian of Aldine High School, I played one season of football at Southeastern Louisiana University before transferring to Baylor University. There, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. During my time at Baylor, I was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Med Honor Society and worked as a medical scribe at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Emergency Department.
Following graduation, I took a gap year, during which I worked as a substitute teacher for Waco Independent School District and later transitioned from my a medical scribe to a medical technician. After my gap year, I began my medical training at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, where I served as a peer tutor and co-founded a large group tutoring organization called Tutor Lead Instructions (TLI).
After medical school, I started my residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Yale New Haven Hospital. During residency, I served as co-president of the Minority Housestaff Organization (MHO) and later transitioned to co-recruitment chair. MHO served as one of Yale’s diversity, equity, and inclusion organizations. I also conducted research in pediatric obesity and presented at Yale Med-Ed Day. In my final year, I was selected as the med-peds program chief, where I helped establish a panel management curriculum and founded the Med-Peds Diversity Council.
Currently, as a primary care physical at Grady’s Asa Yancey and East Point health centers, I am dedicated to closing the health disparities gap and improving access to care for the Atlanta community at large.
