Doctor's Bio
Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Thomas J. Moore Jr. specializes in Orthopedic Trauma with an emphasis on severe musculoskeletal injuries of the extremities and pelvis, as well as fracture nonunion and other complications of problem fractures. Dr. Thomas J. Moore is active in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows in Atlanta and at conferences nationwide. He is the Emory at Grady Ortho Trauma Fellowship director and an associate Program Director for the Emory University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery residency and works primarily at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Moore received his undergraduate degree from Boston College. He attended medical school at the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago Illinois and completed a five-year Orthopedic Surgery residency at Emory University. He went on to complete an Orthopedic Trauma fellowship in Dallas Texas at Parkland Hospital where he developed a special interest in the percutaneous treatment of many fractures.
He is an active member of many professional societies, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), and AO Trauma North America. Dr. Moore has written in the 8th edition of Rockwood and Green’s: Fractures in Adults and has published research in the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, Injury, the Journal of Hand Surgery, and others. When Dr. Moore is not practicing Orthopaedic Surgery, he enjoys spending time with his wife Christina and four children, and his hobbies include basketball, water skiing, the guitar, and classic movies.
