Doctor's Bio
Bobby C. Gearing III, MD, MS, is a board-certified Pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Originally from Rochester, New York, Dr. Gearing brings a strong academic foundation, diverse clinical experience and leadership, and a deep commitment to compassionate, community-centered care.
Dr. Gearing earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his master’s degree in biomedical sciences from Barry University in Miami, Florida. He went on to receive his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency and chief residency at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center/Kings County Hospital.
With over 13 years of clinical practice, Dr. Gearing has extensive experience in general pediatrics as well as specialized care in ADHD, anxiety/depression, and autism spectrum disorders. His work has included serving as an Attending Pediatric Physician at Children’s Medical Group in Poughkeepsie, New York, and at the Anderson Center for Autism, where he managed complex developmental and behavioral conditions. He has also contributed to medical education as a full-time Professor of Clinical Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Gearing served as a partner at Griffin Pediatrics and as the Consulting Medical Director at the Children’s Home of Kingston.
Dr. Gearing is truly looking forward to serving the DeKalb community, building relationships, expanding access, strengthening community partnerships, and elevating the standard of pediatric care. He truly believes every child deserves compassionate, comprehensive care- and every family deserves to feel heard, supported, and empowered.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Gearing enjoys traveling, the outdoors, golfing, bowling, volunteering, and spending time with the family.
