Doctor's Bio

Shelly Kim is proud to be a Grady Provider and has had a long career in medicine. She received her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  After moving to Atlanta in 2008 and working in a hospital lab, she decided to pursue a more patient-focused role. She graduated with a Master’s of Medical Science, specializing in Physician Assistant Studies from Mercer University’s Atlanta Campus. She has held a variety of roles as a PA, including specialties such as gastroenterology, hepatology, medical oncology, and, more recently, surgical oncology and other surgical specialties.

With a background in cancer care, Shelly has been thrilled to be a team member in Grady’s High-Risk Clinic. She looks forward to educating patients about their options, enabling them to make informed decisions about their own care.
