work-based learning

internship for high schoolers

High school juniors and seniors attending schools in Fulton County, DeKalb County, or Atlanta Public Schools can gain hands-on healthcare experience through Grady’s Work-Based Learning Internship program.

What Is a Work-based learning Internship?

Grady partners with Metro Atlanta schools to offer work-based learning (WBL) students real-world healthcare exposure. This program helps students earn required school credits and fulfill community service obligations. You’ll be placed in a hospital department based on your interests and what’s available. Under experienced mentors, you’ll observe and take part in tasks that match your skill level.

As part of the program, you’ll also follow a professional development curriculum that builds skills such as:

  • Crafting an effective résumé
  • Networking across healthcare teams
  • Workplace communication and professionalism

Note: This is an unpaid internship for students already enrolled in their school’s WBL program.
