Volunteers are a vital part of our hospital community, supporting patients, families, and staff through compassion, connection, and service.
Whether you’re a student looking to explore healthcare, a retiree wanting to give back, or simply someone with a heart to help, we welcome you to join our volunteer team.
What You Can Expect
All Grady volunteers go through:
- Application & Interview
- Health Screenings & Background Check
- Orientation & Training
- Department Placement
We ask our volunteers to commit to at least one year of service, with a minimum of three hours each week.
Please note: Grady’s Volunteer Program is a service-based opportunity and is not intended to serve as an internship, a pathway to employment, or a way to fulfill court-ordered community service hours.
Volunteer Opportunities at Grady
Grady offers nonclinical volunteer roles in several hospital departments, with opportunities that may include:
Be the first friendly face visitors see and help them find their way. Guest Services Volunteers help create a welcoming experience by:
- Greeting and guiding patients and visitors
- Assisting at information desks or entryways
- Providing wayfinding support across the hospital
Assist with projects that keep our campus clean, welcoming, and uplifting for patients, families, and staff. Beautification Team Volunteers enhance the hospital environment by:
- Assisting with special projects
- Supporting campus clean-up and beautification efforts
- Helping maintain welcoming spaces for patients, families, and staff
Offer comfort and nonclinical assistance in our NICU and maternity units. Women’s Services Liaison Volunteers serve in the NICU or maternity units by:
- Baby rocking
- Supporting family members during visits
- Offering comfort items
- Helping staff with basic, non-medical tasks
