Doctor's Bio
Gabriel Santamarina is a podiatrist who specializes in treating complex conditions of the foot and ankle. At Grady, his primary focus is diabetic limb salvage, helping patients with serious foot complications from diabetes heal wounds, preserve function, and avoid amputation whenever possible.
Dr. Santamarina has advanced training in foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, sports medicine, and surgery. He has particular expertise in reconstructive procedures using external fixation to treat complex diabetic foot and ankle conditions.
Dr. Santamarina earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University and completed residency training in podiatric medicine, surgery, and rearfoot and ankle reconstruction at Mercy Hospital in Miami. He also completed advanced fellowship training in podiatric sports medicine and surgery at Barry University.
He joined Emory University’s faculty in 2019 and is committed to helping Grady patients maintain mobility, function, and quality of life through advanced foot and ankle care.
