The Georgia Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center at Grady is the world’s first 24-hour comprehensive primary care clinic for adult patients with sickle cell syndromes.

Acute Care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you require acute care, please come directly to the Sickle Cell Clinic. Trained Sickle Cell Clinic doctors and staff, the same staff you see during your routine appointments, will treat you. If this is an emergency, please call 911.  After hours use the Clinic Building entrance on Pratt Street.

Transfusion services are located on the 10th Floor in the A corridor. The clinic recommends all type/cross work be performed two days prior to transfusion to ensure product is available. The Sickle Cell Clinic can assist you.

Public transportation

MARTA offers two options to access Grady Health System’s main campus. MARTA’s bus route options do change, please check MARTA’s website (itsmarta.com) for complete information.

Option #1: Rail Take MARTA’s East-West rail line to stop E1 — Georgia State Station. From the station, walk two blocks north on Piedmont Avenue. Turn right onto Gilmer Street. Walk one block east on Gilmer, to Jesse Hill Jr. Drive.

Option #2: Bus Take MARTA bus Route 99 which passes in front of Grady Memorial Hospital and puts you directly onto the Health System campus.

Parking

Butler Street Parking Deck is located at 92 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive SE and is attached to the Main Grady campus. The deck is open 24 hours a day; seven days a week. Enter the parking deck on Jesse Hill Jr. Drive. Parking is $1 for every 20 minutes – up to a maximum of $6 per 24-hour period.
