John M. Haupert, FACHE - Chief Executive Officer

John Haupert joined Grady in 2011. John is a board-certified Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and recipient of the ACHE Regent’s Leadership Award.  Nationally, John served on the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association from 2018 to 2020 and will assume the role of Chair-Elect in 2022. He also chairs the AHA’s Strategic Leadership Group for Urban Hospital Sustainability. He is a former Chair of the Board of Directors of America’s Essential Hospitals. He also served as the 2019 chair of the Georgia Hospital Association Board of Directors.

Haupert is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Health Care Administration.

Joselyn Butler Baker - President, Grady Health Foundation

Joselyn Butler Baker was named president of the Grady Health Foundation in 2018. She brought with her more than 25 years of experience as a strategist, communicator, and fundraiser for a number of Georgia’s leading organizations and individuals, including the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, MARTA, U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, and former governor Roy Barnes.

Baker attended Oglethorpe University, for which she now serves on the Board of Trustees.

Kelley Carroll, MD - Chief of Ambulatory Medicine

Dr. Kelley Carroll joined Grady in 2017, after serving as Assistant Chief of Staff for Ambulatory Care at Harris Health System in Houston, Texas. Carroll directly oversees all aspects of ambulatory operations, including Grady’s six neighborhood health centers, primary clinics, specialty care clinics, and the Ponce De Leon HIV/AIDS Center.

Carroll is a 2002 graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School in Houston.

Lindsay Caulfield - Chief Marketing & Experience Officer

Lindsay Caulfield joined Grady 2012, recruited from global public relations agency Cohn & Wolfe, where she served as executive vice president. Over her career, she developed and led fully integrated marketing communications programs, public relations initiatives, and strategic planning for Fortune 500 companies, as well as several Atlanta area brands. She has counseled CEOs and worked with corporate communications and marketing teams.

Caulfield received a Master of Science in Health Communication from Tufts University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in English Literature from Northeastern University.

Robert Jansen, MD - Chief Medical Officer/ Chief of Staff

Robert Jansen joined Grady in 2015. Before coming to the health system, he was President of WellStar Medical Group and Executive Vice President/Chief Administrative Medical Officer of WellStar Health System.

Dr. Jansen holds a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Emory University School of Medicine and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Kennesaw State University. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Barnes Hospital, Washington University. After a year of research at the National Institutes of Health, he returned to Washington University and completed a fellowship in nephrology.

Timothy Jefferson, Esq. - Chief Legal Officer

Timothy Jefferson joined Grady in 1998 as the health system’s general counsel. In addition to his general counsel role, Timothy has served Grady as chief operating officer from 2001 to 2003 and interim president and CEO in 2007.

Jefferson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Juris Doctorate from Columbia University Law School. He is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the National Association of Health Services Executives, and the American Health Lawyers Association.

Ryan Loke - Chief Policy Officer

Ryan Loke joined Grady in 2022, having previously served as Deputy Commissioner and Chief Health Policy Officer at the Georgia Department of Community Health where he oversaw the operations of Georgia’s Medicaid and State Health Benefit Plan programs. At Grady, he is responsible for managing the vital relationships between Grady and its government partners.

Loke earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia.

Ben McKeeby - Chief Information Officer

Ben McKeeby joined Grady in 2010 and was named Chief Information Officer in 2014. Before coming to Grady, Ben was a healthcare technology consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he assisted various organizations through many transformative initiatives.

McKeeby received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Master’s Degree in Decision and Information Science from the University of Florida – Warrington College of Business.

Rick Roche - Chief People Officer

Rick Roche joined Grady in 2020 after serving as the interim Chief People Officer. Roche served as the HR executive for Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, University Health Care System in Augusta, Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, The Health Care District of Palm Beach County, and the University of Miami Health System. He served in the United States Navy with the submarine task force based in Groton, CT.

Roche is a graduate of Xavier University – Williams College of Business and earned his Masters of Business Administration and Management from Lesley University.

Shannon Sale - Chief Strategy Officer

Shannon Sale came to Grady in 2012. She works to identify areas of opportunity and execute strategies for growth, while also focusing on the acute, ambulatory, and non-acute functions and facilities. Before joining the health system, she was a senior manager at Kurt Salmon Associates.

Sale is a graduate of Wake Forest and earned her Masters of Health Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Anthony Saul - Chief Financial Officer

Anthony Saul assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer in October 2021, after serving as Grady’s Senior Vice President of Finance for several years. Saul has more than 20 years of experience in the health and hospital field. Prior to his arrival at Grady, Saul served in a dual role for LCMC Health as Vice President of Finance for the health system and CEO of one of the system hospitals.

Saul received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from Nicholls State University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

S. Rob Todd, MD - Chief of Acute Care Surgery

Dr. Rob Todd joined Grady in 2019. He comes to us from Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as professor, chief of Acute Care Surgery, and director of the Surgical Residency Program in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery. In his five years at Baylor as section chief, chief of General Surgery, director of the Ginni and Richard Mithoff Trauma Center at Ben Taub Hospital, and medical director of the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit.

Dr. Todd received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin in 1992 and received a Doctorate of Medicine in 1996 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine.

Michelle Wallace - Chief Nursing Officer

Michelle Wallace came to Grady in 2012 and has held executive responsibility for numerous clinical services including include emergency, trauma, burn, pharmacy, imaging, and respiratory. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American College of Nurse Executives, and Georgia Hospital Association’s Georgia Organization of Nurse Leaders.

Wallace received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, and a Master’s of Science of Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner from Troy University in Phoenix City, AL. She holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice – Nurse Executive from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.

 

Yolanda Wimberly, MD - Chief Health Equity Officer

Dr. Yolanda Wimberly is Senior Vice President and Chief Health Equity Officer. She comes to the Grady leadership team from the Morehouse School of Medicine, where she most recently served as ACGME Designated Institutional Official, Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education, and Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.

Wimberly earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Meharry Medical College and her Master of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Cincinnati. She is a member of the board of directors for the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education and has been honored with the Association for American Medical Colleges’ prestigious Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award.

Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation Board of Directors

Larry Gellerstedt, Chair

Larry Gellerstedt is a partner in Sweetwater Holdings Company, a privately held, Atlanta-based real estate investment firm. He is also the retired CEO and president of Cousins Properties.

Gellerstedt serves on several corporate boards and is Vice Chairman of the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation. His civic memberships and involvement include the Atlanta Committee for Progress, Georgia Research Alliance, Fernbank Museum, and the Woodruff Arts Center.

Brian Blake

Dr. M. Brian Blake is President of Georgia State University, having been appointed to the position in June 2021. Prior to joining Georgia State, he was Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at George Washington University. As the highest-ranking academic officer, he oversaw academic programs across 10 schools and colleges, three campuses, and 28,000 students.

Pedro Cherry

Pedro Cherry is President and CEO of Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas. Cherry previously served as executive vice president of Customer Service and Operations for Georgia Power.

Cherry serves on numerous boards, including the Boys and Girls Club of America – Southeast Region, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan, and the Georgia Chamber board of governors.

Shan Cooper

Shan Cooper is the CEO of Journey Forward Strategies. She is the former chief transformation officer of WestRock – responsible for the Recycling and Waste Services Division, Procurement, Enterprise Logistics, and Information Technology.

Cooper serves on the Southern Company Board of Directors, the board of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, and the board of trustees of both Emory University and the Woodruff Arts Center.

H. James Dallas

James Dallas is president of James Dallas & Associates. An author, speaker and consultant, he retired in September 2013 as Senior Vice President of Quality, Operations and IT at Medtronic, Inc.

Dallas serves on the boards of for-profit and non-profit organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of South Carolina Aiken, and Master of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

Kathryn Flowers Glasco

Kathryn Flowers Glasco is a real estate professional with Chapman Hall Realtors, Atlanta, GA. She attended Clark College, receiving a degree in Business Administration-Marketing, and Atlanta University Graduate School, where she received a Master of Business Administration, Finance.

Glasco is Chair of the Board of the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority. Her community involvement includes serving as a board member for the Northwest Atlanta Pastors & Community Leaders Association, former Board Member of Sweet Auburn Works, former member of the Fulton County Personnel Board, former board member and past treasurer of the Metropolitan Atlanta Coalition of 100 Black Women, and former board member of Special Olympics Georgia.

John Gregg

John Gregg is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Truist Securities, the Corporate and Investment Banking division of Truist Financial Corporation. Gregg has 32 years of investment banking and capital markets experience, and he and his family have lived in Atlanta since 2006.

Gregg serves as a board member for Junior Achievement of Georgia and The ABA Securities Association and is a Director of the Buckhead Coalition. He previously served as a board member for The Grady Health Foundation and Trees Atlanta.

Edward J. Hardin

Edward J. (Jack) Hardin, a partner with Smith, Gambrell & Russell, advises corporate directors and their companies on corporate governance, corporate law and domestic and international business transactions.

Hardin has received multiple professional and community service recognitions. He serves on numerous boards, including the Regional Commission on Homelessness, the Georgia Legal Services Foundation, the Fulton County Board of Health, Georgia Works!, and Invesco Mortgage Capital Inc., a real estate investment trust (REIT).

Hardin earned a BA degree from Wesleyan University and a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University.

John Hollins

John Hollins is an account executive specializing in new business development in commercial advertising and production for CBS 46 TV and Peachtree TV in Atlanta, and president & CEO of Tiger USA Baseball, a non-profit organization developed to give young baseball players the exposure needed to receive college scholarships.

John is a past president of 100 Black Men of DeKalb County, and has been honored by the Atlanta Braves as a community hero for his work. John earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Georgia State University.

Alicia Ivey

Alicia M. Ivey is a driven leader who has built a 30-year record of success. Currently, Alicia serves as the President and CEO of Goldbergs Concessions Corporation, an airport concessions operating at one of the busiest airports in the world.

Ms. Ivey’s commitment to the community is reflected in many community, political, and civic arenas. Among them are the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), the C. T. Vivian Institute, the International Women’s Forum, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and the Women’s Solidarity Society. She is also the founder of the Legacy Lady Foundation where she works diligently to highlight the significant achievements of women.

 

Sam Johnson

Sam Johnson is Vice-Chair of Accounts at Ernst & Young. He is a member of the firm’s US Executive Board and the EY Americas Operating Executive.

Johnson is an advocate for early childhood education and pursues his passion by giving his time to several community boards and mentoring with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

David Moody

C. David Moody, Jr, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of C.D. Moody Construction Company, Inc.  Moody is a graduate of both Morehouse College and Howard University.

Robert Sheft

Robert Sheft is Chairman and CEO of Installation Made Easy, Inc. (IME). IME develops and coordinates home improvement programs marketed through retailers on a nationwide basis. He is also a senior advisor to Roark Capital Group, a private equity firm based in Atlanta.

Sheft serves on the Boards of IME, GreenSky, Inc. and Startek, Inc., as well as the Georgia Innocence Project and YRF Darca, an organization that develops, funds and manages educational programs for disadvantaged children in Israel. He received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.

David P. Stockert

David Stockert is a director of Mid-America Apartment Communities, a real estate investment trust focused on the acquisition, selective development, redevelopment and management of multifamily apartment homes throughout the Southeast and Southwest regions of the U.S. He was chief executive officer, president and director of Post Properties for 15 years, retiring in 2016.

Stockert works with a number of organizations including the Metro Chamber of Commerce, the National Multi-Housing Council, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, and Central Atlanta Progress. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Colorado and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.

Ravi Thadhani, MD

Ravi I. Thadhani, MD, MPH, is the executive vice president for health affairs (EVPHA). Thadhani also serves as executive director of Emory’s Woodruff Health Sciences Center and vice chair of the Emory Healthcare Board of Directors.

Rev. Eric V. Thomas

Rev. Eric Thomas is pastor of Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. He is a graduate of A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he majored in political science. He went on to study at the Interdenominational Theological Center and Carver Bible College.

He has extensive experience with government and non-profit community-based organizations, including serving as Senior Advisor for Faith-Based and Community Affairs for Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. Thomas has also served as outreach coordinator for West End Medical Center, coordinator of victims’ services for Atlanta Victims’ Assistance, and assistant to the clerk of Fulton County Superior Court Juanita Hicks.

Bernie Tokarz

Bernie Tokarz is manager with Cornerstone On Demand Inc. and former director of public policy for the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. He was appointed by former Governor Nathan Deal to the Board of Directors of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority in 2015.

Tokarz earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Georgia. He serves as secretary of The Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority Board of Trustees.

Carol B. Tomé

Carol Tomé is the Chief Executive Officer of UPS. Before joining UPS, Tome served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Home Depot, Inc., one of the world’s largest retailers.

Tomé serves as a trustee or board member of a number of organizations, including the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Sovos Brands, Catalyst, and GIA Partners. She is a member of The Committee of 200, The Buckhead Coalition, The Business Roundtable, and The Business Council.

Joseph Adrian Tyndall, MD, MPH

Dr. Joseph Adrian Tyndall is Executive Vice President for Health Affairs and Professor and Dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine. Tyndall previously served as a professor and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine for 13 years before being appointed to the role of interim dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Florida in 2018, and subsequently the Associate Vice President for Strategic and Academic Affairs for UF Health in Gainesville Florida.

Tyndall is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the emergency medicine residency program at the University of Maryland Medical System. He received his master’s degree in Health Services Management and Health Policy from Columbia University.
