“I wanted to do something memorable for my 40th birthday, so instead of going somewhere random to celebrate with my friends, I chose a place that meant something to me. And that was Atlanta – because of Grady.”
Glass spent some time with nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), who are taking care of a new generation of Grady NICU babies.
“I’m happy I got to walk the halls of the hospital that took care of me 40 years ago – the very hospital that was the first of its kind more than a century ago, open to all.”
Glass said visiting Grady was the highlight of her birthday.
“Even Atlantans I’ve met on my trip talk about Grady with so much love and respect, and educated me on what this hospital means to the city. It makes me even more proud to be a Grady Baby. I may not live in Georgia, but I have some major bragging rights!”
