Dr. Hee Won Lee joined the Department of Anesthesiology in August 2017 as an Assistant Professor at the Emory University School of Medicine. She is a graduate of Harvard College and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Lee completed her Internal Medicine internship at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, after which she went on to complete her residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine as well as her fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. LeeÛªs research interests include multicultural perceptions of pain in labor, barriers to care, physician burnout, the use of transthoracic echocardiography as a point of care exam in parturients, and maternal mortality in America. Dr. Lee is a member of Physicians for a National Health Program, which is working toward a Single Payer system in America. Dr. LeeÛªs outside interests include spending time with her family, striving toward being zero waste and plastic free, advocating for medicare for all and environmental activism.
