I am a medical oncologist and clinical researcher with the goal of discovering novel mechanisms that drive gastrointestinal cancers for innovative drug development. My research involves understanding how genomic alterations and pathways are significant in colorectal cancer and may be targeted, eg EGFR-MAPK pathway, heat shock protein 90, and microsatellite instability. I collaborate with scientists so that we can produce pre-clinical data to generate evidence to propose phase I clinical trials. My research also encompasses studying genomic alterations that may help detect patients who are at high-risk of colon cancer recurrence, and identify patients who may have hereditary cancer syndromes.
