Dr. Joyner is a board-certified Academic Specialist in General Obstetrics and Gynecology who graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 2007 and then completed her residency at the University of Connecticut in 2011. She remained on faculty at the University of Connecticut for four years before ultimately relocating to Atlanta in 2015. Dr. Joyner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics and the Associate Medical Director of Nurse Midwifery Services at the Emory University School of Medicine. Her primary clinical appointment is at Grady Memorial Hospital where she spends her days training medical students and residents in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Additionally, she directs gynecologic services for Grady’s new Gender Center and the International Gynecology Clinic. Dr. Joyner’s research interests are breastfeeding, perinatal mood disorders, sexual dysfunction, LGBTQIA health, and medical education.
