Dr. Vandana D. Niyyar, MD, FASN, FNKF, FASDIN

Dr. Niyyar’s main clinical interests are in End-Stage Renal Disease, with specific expertise in dealing with vascular access for hemodialysis patients. She is proficient in dialysis access procedures and renal ultrasonography. She is passionate about promoting multidisciplinary collaboration in research and education in vascular access, with the ultimate goal of optimizing access care and processes for dialysis patients.

To that end, Dr. Niyyar serves in various leadership roles, including as Secretary-Treasurer of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN) and Chair of the ASDIN Ultrasound Sub-Committee. She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Continuous Professional Development Committee, co-author of the NephSAP Interventional Nephrology Update, and Co-Chair of the ASDIN 2018 and 2019 Scientific Meetings.

She has actively participated in workgroups, including the ASN-Interventional Nephrology Advisory Group and Kidney Health Initiative. Dr. Niyyar enjoys teaching and has taught numerous didactic presentations and hands-on training workshops regionally, nationally, and internationally.
