School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Goals


It is the goal of the School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography is to prepare competent entry-level general  sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. 

  • Learning Outcome 1:  Students will be clinically competent.:
    • 1.1. Students will apply principles of patient safety in using acoustic energy as low as reasonably achievable during sonographic exam. 
    • 1.2 Students will apply knowledge of sonographic procedures. 
    • 1.3 Students will apply provide appropriate patient care.
  • Learning Outcome 2Students will communicate effectively
    • 2.1 Students will demonstrate knowledge of patient communication skills..
    • 2.2 Students will demonstrate effective oral communication.
