Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP)

Hospitals can reduce the risk of wound infection after surgery by making sure patients get the right medicines at the right time on the day of surgery. This measure shows how often the hospital gave these medicines to its surgery patients within the defined time periods.

The data above is from the most recent reporting period (July 2011 through June 2012) and reflects a rolling 12-month average. The U.S., Georgia and Grady hospital data is provided by Hospital Compare. Hospital Compare was created through the efforts of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Department of Health and Human Services, and other members of the Hospital Quality Alliance: Improving Care Through Information (HQA).

The most current data (Grady - 3rd Quarter 2012) is provided by the University Healthsystem Consortium.
