Grady Health System's Kirkwood Family Medicine opened today, bringing new services to DeKalb County residents. A new model for Grady's neighborhood health centers, the Kirkwood facility offers outstanding primary care and other health services in a modern, patient-friendly setting. The center is located at 1863 Memorial Drive, SE in Atlanta's Kirkwood neighborhood, next to the Peachtree Hope Charter School.
"This center is an excellent example of what Grady has become over the past three years, thanks to outstanding community and philanthropic support and the vision of the health system's management," said Pete Correll, chairman of the Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation. "Kirkwood Family Medicine and its enhanced services demonstrate Grady's commitment to providing the best care possible, in the best setting possible, for all of the citizens of our community.
Open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Kirkwood Family Medicine offers adult and pediatric healthcare, obstetrics and gynecology, geriatrics, eye care, a full service lab, pharmacy and x-ray department. Kirkwood Family Medicine is replacing DeKalb Grady Neighborhood Health Center, which was located in a county-owned building approximately one mile from the new center.
With 14,000 square feet and 20 exam rooms, the new center has room to add more specialty services and will conduct a community needs assessment to help determine what those services should be.
